July 1: Top Ten Classic Books I Read in High School in Canada
I know everyone’s High School reading experience was/is different, either you read the same books I have or you haven’t or you really didn’t enjoy them or you have; or they’re on your list of classic books to read before you die, either way here are 10 classic books I read in high school. Canada edition.
3. The Catcher in the Rye This is one of those books you either hate or love, there seems to be no in-between, personally, I loved it. J.D. Salinger’s writing is so different, Holden seems to come alive only because he’s so whiny and annoying, its wonderful. When you think Holden Caufield you think, I’m glad he’s a fictional character because I would not want him as a friend. That’s good writing. .
6. Nameless There’s this thing about expectant motherhood novels that make my heart beat just a little bit faster. It’s my book soft-spot. This looks/reads like it could hit the spot.
8. Life of Pi Was anyone else excited when this movie came out? I sure was. At the time I thought the book was genius, actually I still do, the symbolism was off the charts genius to me.
Then there were these books that were in the curriculum but never had a chance to read them.
10.Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
I wanna know, what classics were a part of your high school curriculum?
Which ones did enjoy, not enjoy?
